Originally trained as a linguist, Caroline is a Cambridge-trained educator with extensive experience across a range of international curricula, including IBDP, GCSE/A-Level, the French and Spanish International Baccalaureates, and Chinese/English bilingual programmes.

She has served as an international examiner for Cambridge English Exams and the International Option of the French Baccalaureate in countries including Spain, the UK, Hong Kong, France, Indonesia, the United States, and Thailand.

In leadership and innovation roles, Caroline has led English departments, reformed multilingual school libraries, and developed TED in Beijing. Most recently she was Head of English & Library Manager at Chinese International School, Hangzhou, and before that English Literature Lead (IBDP) at The American School Hong Kong. She has also collaborated with journalists from The Financial Times, the BBC, and the South China Morning Post to strengthen students’ research, presentation, and persuasive writing skills.

She initiated a series of AI-focused talks featuring specialists from Microsoft Research Asia, Tsinghua University, CGTN, and Greenkern, bridging classroom learning with real-world industry and academic insight.

Educational Philosophy

Caroline believes in cultivating a warm, creative, and well-supported learning environment where all students can make meaningful academic progress. While strategic exam preparation is important, she champions project-based learning that develops critical thinking, creative exploration, lateral problem-solving, and long-term planning skills.

Mindful of the butterfly effect—the idea that small actions can have far-reaching consequences—Caroline is passionate about exploring how language and literature shape our worldview, and how the stories we tell about ourselves can, in turn, shape the world. She is equally committed to introducing sustainable solutions that thoughtfully balance the needs of people, places, and profit.
