Evangelos Dasopatis is an experienced English and Literature teacher who has taught in well-known schools across the Middle East, Mainland China, and Hong Kong for over twenty years. He has taught English Literature, World Literature, English First Language, and English Second Language to students across every year group and syllabus, including IGCSE, IB, AP, and A-Level.

With over twenty years of teaching experience, Evangelos discovered his passion for teaching while completing his Post Graduate Degree in English Literature at the University of Stellenbosch, where he worked part-time for the university’s International Department, teaching TOEFL to foreign postgraduate students from diverse corners of the world, including Gabon, Greece, Germany, Chile, and Korea. This experience had a profound influence on Evangelos, as he discovered a passion for teaching, as well as interacting and learning from people of other cultures.

Evangelos is also an experienced TOK (Theory of Knowledge) teacher and has been a TOK coordinator in the past. He is an IB Examiner with hundreds of graded IB Literature essays to his name.

Evangelos’ teaching philosophy focuses on encouraging his students to read critically, identify nuance on the page, and most of all, read for the pure joy of it. He always encourages his students to question everything and develop their own original and personal viewpoints.
