Anthea Lovett has more than 5 years of private tutoring experience in Hong Kong with children of all ages, specializing in grammar, reading comprehension, creative writing skills, and essay writing, as well as in art and design. During this time, she also worked as a graphic designer at various local and international companies.
Anthea received her degree magna cum laude from the prestigious Savannah College of Art & Design with a BFA in Graphic Design, minoring in Publication Design and Art History. During her time, she was involved in various outreach activities, including writing and illustrating her first book in collaboration with a local charity for Epilepsy, titled “Seize the Day”. Anthea is also a great lover of poetry, with several awards received. Her understanding of the fundamentals of art and design, as well as her love for literature, pushes her to imbue a sense of creativity.
Originally from Australia, Anthea grew up in Hong Kong through the international school system. Her understanding of Hong Kong school culture allows her to connect with her students as an insider. Anthea encourages her students to approach each project with a curious and analytical mindset.
Outside of work, Anthea is a passionate reader, with a love of storytelling that often inspires her teaching methodology. She also continues to lead freelance art and design projects for clients world-wide. She also greatly enjoys music and is often found around various jazz clubs or concert halls during the weekend. Anthea believes that by surrounding yourself with the creativity of others, she and her students can better understand the world and foster a love for learning.
