The MAP test is an adaptive online multiple-choice test commonly used to track student performance across their academic career. It is also increasingly being used for admissions purposes. There is no time limit on the MAP, which helps provide accurate scores by reducing stress.
The MAP scoring system is automated and provides a score comparing students against other students in the same age range to provide a comparative assessment on a subject-by-subject level.
The MAP covers English Language Usage–such as grammar, punctuation, and usage–Reading Comprehension, and Mathematics.
The MAP offers age-specific tests to students at all grade levels.

The International Diagnostic and Admissions Test (IDAT) is a multiple-choice admissions test that focuses on character, ethics, and critical thinking as well as subject-matter aptitude.
IDAT scores count the number of questions students get correct and incorrect then express the score as a percentage that measures classroom readiness. Below 50% is not ready, 50-80% is ready with support, and 80-100% is fully ready.
The full IDAT test assesses English, Reading, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and Character, including an interview, but not all schools require the whole test.
The IDAT offers age-specific tests for all grade levels.

The SSAT and ISEE are multiple-choice standardised tests used for admissions by private secondary schools, mostly in the US. Although the tests are not formally related, they are very similar in structure, content, and philosophy. Both tests have five sections: Writing, Reading, Verbal, and two Quantitative sections.
On the SSAT/ISEE, students achieve a raw score based on the number of questions they got correct, incorrect, or did not answer out of the total number of questions on the test. This raw score is then normalised into a scale score, 500-800 per section on the SSAT (1500-2400 total), 760-940 per section on the ISEE. The essays are not scored, but a copy is sent to schools with the score report.
The SSAT/ISEE are available from Grade 3-11/Year 4-12. Different grade levels take different assessments.
SSAT Elementary: Grades 3-4/Year 4-5
SSAT Middle: Grades 5-7/Year 6-8
SSAT Upper: Grades 8-11/Year 9-12
ISEE Primary: Grades 1-3/Year 2-4
ISEE Lower: Grades 4-5/Year 5-6
ISEE Middle: Grades 6-7/Year 7-8
ISEE Upper: Grades 8-11/Year 9-12

The 11+/13+ Common Entrance Exams–sometimes referred to as “Bond-style” or “ISEB tests”–are short-answer and multiple-choice tests that assess students at the 11+ and 13+ age level. These tests focus on assessing student methodology and thought processes in addition to simply whether an answer is correct.
Each question is worth a different number of points, depending on complexity. Simple questions are worth one point, and a short essay response could be worth 15 points. Students are given a score on how many points they got out of the total available.
The 11+/13+ tests include Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, and Nonverbal Reasoning, although not all assessments will include all of these sections. The Verbal and Nonverbal Reasoning sections are unique and evaluate logical reasoning, pattern recognition, spatial analysis, and other lateral-thinking skills.
The 11+ test is taken by 11-12 year old students, and the 13+ is taken by 13-14 year old students.
Our teacher will review the student’s existing work, including their school report and writing sample. We will then arrange a paid trial lesson to evaluate the student’s strengths and needs, followed by an initial plan for either one-on-one coaching or private group classes.
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is the international equivalent of the UK’s GCSE, a standard assessment of student ability taken at the end of subject-specific courses as part of the IGCSE curriculum. The courses and exams are offered by several different exam boards, such as Cambridge, EdExcel, and Oxford AQA.
IGCSE papers are scored by the relevant examination board on a scale from A* (A-star) to G with A* being the highest and G being the lowest.
We are experienced in providing support for the following IGCSE subjects:
English Literature, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Economics
The IGCSE curriculum covers Grades 9-10/Years 10-11/ages 14-16 with the final assessments taken in Grade 10/Year 11.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) is an internationally-recognised program designed to build student skills across eight discipline areas through a variety of internal and external assessments.
IB internal assessments are scored by school staff with the schools being audited by the IB. External assessments are scored by IB assessors, who are specialists in their subjects. Scores range from 1-7 with anything above a 4 being a passing grade. Students may also receive marks for their Extended Essay academic paper and Theory of Knowledge philosophy essay.
Language and Literature: primary language learning covering literature, theatre, rhetoric, and communications
Language Acquisition: secondary language learning covering writing, reading, listening, and speaking.
Individuals and Societies: social sciences such as history, psychology, economics, and philosophy
Sciences: the experimental sciences, including physics, biology, and chemistry
Mathematics: a variety of mathematics courses from algebra through to advanced calculus
Arts: a broad-ranging subject that covers classical languages, computer sciences, music, and others
The IBDP curriculum is taken in Grades 11-12/Years 12-13/ages 16-18 with the final assessments taken at the end of the student’s final year.

The SAT and ACT are multiple-choice standardised tests used for admissions by US universities. The SAT is taken digitally worldwide while international ACTs are currently taken on paper. Most students applying to university in the US will have to take either the SAT or the ACT.
Both tests measure how many questions students got correct on a section to generate a raw score. The raw score is then normalised to provide a scale score. SAT scores measure 400-1600, and ACT scores are 1-36.
The SAT consists of four modules, two in English Reading and Writing and two in Mathematics. The ACT consists of five sections: English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and an optional essay.
Both SAT and ACT are generally taken during Grades 11-12/Years 12-13 although preparation often begins the year before.
We begin with a paid trial class. Within one week, you will receive feedback from our teacher, along with an evaluation of the student’s strengths and needs, and an initial plan for either one-on-one coaching or private group classes.
There are no packages, so you can completely customize your own plan! Typically, students attend weekly sessions lasting around 1 to 1.5 hours. For the best results, we recommend committing for a year.
