Meet Our Team

Renée Boey loves to teach and she loves to learn. She caught the teaching bug as a college student when she taught at a Boston Public High School for the Harvard Project for International Education and served as the Director of the Phillips Brooks House Citizenship Program that offered naturalization assistance to immigrants. These experiences made her see the life-changing impact education can make within and beyond the classroom. Education has long since become a profession and a passion for her.

Megan leads the Primary Division, provides professional development opportunities for her fellow educators, delivers parent talks, and is an academic coach for private and one-on-one sessions with her students. Megan loves seeing the innate growth that her students have developed over a period of time through their own effort and hard work. One of her many highlights is having her students remark that: “classes with her are more fun than Disneyland” —twice. Allowing students to realize that learning and education can be both fun and impactful is one of the core reasons that Megan became an educator in the first place.

Steve Leech has taught every aspect of English, from the fundamentals of grammar to literary analysis, to students spanning three different continents for over a decade. Having studied Journalism at the University of South Florida, Steve brings his passion for storytelling with him and instills it into his students, teaching them just how impactful language and literature can be in young people’s lives.

Mei brings real-world applications of science and a wonderful ability to make science, math and technology exciting and relevant in the everyday life of her students.  Mei completed her BS degree at UCLA with a Computer Science major and Graphics Design minor.  She continued her computer science education at Carnegie Mellon University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA in Software Engineering & Management.

Cynthia Pinto is the Kindergarten Coordinator and Teacher at Baker and Bloom, who has been passionately dedicated to creating a stimulating learning environment for young children for over four years. With a solid educational foundation, including a Montessori diploma and a Professional Diploma in Educational Studies, she specializes in phonics, early literacy, and reading comprehension as a certified Orton-Gillingham instructor. Before relocating to Hong Kong in August 2020, Cynthia worked for seven years at an international kindergarten in Singapore.
